Raising the standards of Maintenance for medical equipment in Libya

Tripoli, May 10, 2007

The new Project in Albutnan Medical Center in Tubrok was the first SRS (Siemens Remote Service) Project in Libya, where Siemens Engineers have worked to connect CT, MRI and Angio units to the maintenance center in Germany through 2 way satellite communication so the medical systems can be monitored minute by minute, with 50% chance of fixing problems once they show up on the screen, sometimes without the costumer even noticing.

Tubrok project was one successful step taken forward and to be repeated very soon in other hospitals.

The aim is to connect all CT and MRI in the country to the SRS center in Germany absolutely free of charge as SIEMENS contribution to improving the health sector and the quality of health services in Libya. The SRS connection will bring customers many benefits for both system operators and hospital managers alike benefits such as but not limited to

A&D signs a Distribution Agreement with its 1st Partner in Libya

Tripoli, Dec 11, 2006

On the 11th of December, 2006, Siemens Branch Libya signed a contract with its first A&D partner in Libya. The contract was signed in the Siemens Branch Libya Head office, from one side by Mr. Lammel-Chehab, CEO of Siemens Libya, and Mr. Freddy De-Becker, CFO of Siemens Libya, and from the other side by Mr. Ali El-Haddar, CEO of ElReef Libya Electrical Products Company. This partnership is an excellent step forward for Siemens to increase the awareness and improve the image of A&D. With our new partner, Siemens A&D will have showrooms all over Libya to assure the availability of Siemens A&D products and make it reachable to all the target groups. Mr. Sascha Maennl, General Manager of Automation and Drives (A&D) in Libya, emphasized that through this partnership, Siemens will have a very good chance to participate in several new business opportunities in the promising Libyan market.
